He has no intention of retiring from playing cricket at the moment and his target is to play for the 2011 World Cup says Parliamentarian of the UPFA for Matara District Sanath Jayasuriya.
Speaking to a West Indian newspaper Jayasuriya has said he would think about retiring from cricket only after playing for the 2011 World Cup.
Mr. Jayasuriya who was elected to Parliament with the highest preferential votes from Matara District attended Parliamentary sessions only on the day new MPs were sworn in.
Also, Mr. Jayasuriya who had not given any interview to a newspaper in Sri Lanka regarding his intention to play for the World Cup has given this interview to Colin Croft of ‘Guardian’ in West Indies. Colin Croft is a reputed cricket commentator and analyst and a former West Indian cricketer.
